Clutch Question / Need Your Opinions

Motor's getting built, and i'm gonna upgrade the clutch while i'm at it. however, i am on a budget so please keep that in mind.

I've heard from a couple fd guys that I should NOT go with the Exedy clutch kit. What's up with that?

What do you all recommend while wanting more than oem but with limited funds?

Thanks for the help,
Brent

I'm not sure why people are steering you away from Exedy, they seem to do very well on the RX7. I personally would recommend the ACT Street/Strip clutch for a mildly modified RX7.

Definitely prefer to get an act s/s but someone's offering a new exedy for cheap. Never heard of problems with exedy? Your word is my purchase.

The thing you need to make sure is that the clutch you get, has the proper specs. Clutches are measured in torque so you need to make sure the one you are looking at can hold the torque your car is or will be generating.

Here's a good thread from a while back:
