Clutch question

Ok so i have the tranny connected to the engine and the clutch attached to the flywheel. My only question is that the clutch fork that touches the slave cylinder, is it supposed to just move away from the engine (pushing the t/o bearing forward toward the clutch) and not the other way? it just seems weird that the slave wouldnt push the fork forward instead of the slave cylinder getting pushed in. Any insight would be appreciated.

The FD uses a Pull Type clutch.
