clutch pedal stuck to the floor, but not leaking fluid...
Driving home today and three blocks from my house, my clutch pedal sarted to have very little resistance (act clutch and pressure plate). Two minutes later it was on the floor and the car was jerking badly in first... I pulled the pedal back out with my foot and it had a little pressure, so I sliped it into nutral and pulled over. I managed to get it home by pulling the pedeal out with my foot and getting just enough pressure to get it into gear, but it was messy (lots of jerking and grinding
).
Anyways, no fluid anywhere (cylinders look dry) and actually the brake fluid is topped off all the way. With the car off I have pressure in the pedal, but after 10 pushes or so, it's back on the floor. Any ideas
...
Thanks in advance.
Matt

No there doesn't necessarily have to be a leak for the slave cylinder to be bad. Inside the slave cylinder is a rubber plunger that pushed the fluid. Over time this plunger will become weak and flimsy. Thats why you need to flush out your fluids from time to time to keep everything clean. I wouldn't waist money on a rebuild kit. They never really hold up. Just get a new one.
I had the same problem, it was the clutch "master" cylinder for me but you might want to change the "slave" cylinder as well...they seem to go bad at around the same time some say.

. We'll certainly check out the cylinders as well ...
Same thing happened to me a few weeks ago. It was my master cylinder. No visible leaks.
I initially bought rebuild kits at the local autoparts store, but later decided to do it 'right' and ordered a new master and slave from Ray Crowe. The install was easy and the pedal feels much better than it ever did.
That would suck if it was your fork...

IMHO when working with these types of problems and you have to do a little troubleshooting/guessing, start with the cheapest parts first and work up, you might be surprised how cheap it was to fix.

I've had 2 master cylinder's go bad within the last 3 years of driving. Part of the problem with the Jspec FD is that the master cylinder is above the downpipe. I just pulled mine apart and rebuilt it for about $15.
