Clutch pedal / feel question

I haven't driven my car for a couple weeks, and when I took it out yesterday I noticed that my clutch felt REALLY different. I'll do a little diagram to show where the engagement point and range was before and after.

[x]=engagement point, "___"= dead zone where the pedal didn't have any feel or resistance.

Before:
|----------------[x]--------------___|

Now:
|---[x]-----________|

It basically seems like the "dead feel" of the pedal has gotten a lot longer, and the range of motion where theres actual pressure and resistance has been confined now to almost near the the floor. Everything still works the same and feels almost the same, but theres almost no range of motion now.

Is there anything I can adjust or check, or do any of you have any insight into whats goin on?

Diagram A reminds me of my FD and Diagram B reminds me of like my dads pickup truck. When i have to use it to pick stuff up at home depot, i forget the pickup point is really close to the floor and and i almost stall and stuff.

Well that being said, you can adjust your "catch point". We did that in my friends corollla.

But in your case, i dont know what went wrong. Maybe a bent clutch fork?

I sure as hell hope not, my clutch fork snapped in late October and I got a new one and made sure it wasn't gonna happen again.

Try adjusting the pedal height. If you have to keep adjusting it, you probably have a bad slave or master cylinder.

Just checked in the FSM and adjusted the free play, it seems better now but I haven't driven it. Updates later tonight when I head off to a movie!

seems pretty odd that the free play would need to be adjusted when the car has not been driven and it was "good" before.

clutch pedal

check under your carpet and make sure the mastercylinder is not leeking,It will look like a rust mark down the firewall on the inside of the car.
