Clutch pedal went to the floor on Monday. Fluid loss in the master cylinder.
It's got to be a leaky hose or slave cylinder. I haven't gotten it on the lift yet but I thought I would go ahead and order a replacement, braided, hose and have it on hand.

I found the hose on Pettit's site for $24 bucks. I can't get anyone to answer the phone when I call.

Are there any other vendors you guys can think of that would have it in stock and would get it out to me today?

Local speed shops usually have braided clutch/brake hose sections with AN ends. The proper length with a couple of AN to metric adapters is all you need.

When mine blew out I just took the old one to a local rubber/hose shop - they made one for me on the spot for $20 or so while I waited. The ones from vendors are nicer fit/finish, but this one worked just fine and got the car moving again.

I did the same as Dale. I took my old hose to a local shop that made me a braided clutch line while I waited. About 10 mins and ~$20 bux later I was on my way with a quality clutch line.

I got so many nice responses (PM and email) from friends that I couldn't let this post go without closure.

The clutch pedal went to the floor on Monday evening during a torrential rain storm. I really didn't look at anything on Monday evening but I was able to get it home through a harrowing experience during the last 8 blocks.

Tuesday brought dry weather and I was able to examine the master cylinder and saw that it was seriously low on fluid. The failed clutch was a leak and it was either the hose or the slave.

I rolled the dice and ordered a hose. On Wednesday I spoke to Adkins Rotary and ordered a hose 2nd day air. It arrived as promised on Friday and I was ready to investigate the problem.

Saturday brought AM rain but by noon it was only cold. I got the car in the air in my driveway and examined a bone dry slave cylinder and boot, but everything anything near the clutch hose was wet. Fingers were crossed.

I borrowed a friend from washing his 2007 Mustang GT and he sat in the car and started operating the clutch. Sure enough, a torrent of fluid was escaping through a hole in the rubber hose.

After procuring the proper tools, the actual clutch hose swap probably only took 15 minutes. I bled it with a Mighty-Vac in my driveway and it felt "good". I drove it to a friend's race shop, put it on the lift and bled it again and then it felt "right"

The hose was $24 bucks. I got it delivered in 48 hours for less than a total expenditure of $45 bucks. I can't complain. Adkins Rotary was excellent and I will definitely add them to the list of vendors I will use again.

I don't use the forum much (any), but I am glad you guys were here this time.

I now own two, so I may be visiting a bit more than I did in the past.
