clear vs. smoked front turn signals

the place i'm getting my car repaired at will credit me the 130 for a stock signal from mazda so i was thinking about upgrading to the smoked/clear ones. i've had no trouble finding pictures of the signals themselves but with them on a car is proving difficult. any thoughts and especially pictures would be appreciated, color of my car is montego.

Smoked lights look a lot better in darker colored cars, I say go for it.

Im about to get the smoked lens and use them for a while.

I saw them on another VR fd with the 99 lip it and it looked amazing.

Got these euro clears on eBay for around $100 and think they look great, felt the stocks were nice but a bit dated...all depends on what you like, wish I had some better pics but these are pretty good.

Are you talking about these smoked lights?

If so I would go with these instead.

These would make your car look alot cleaner. The smoked ones just make it look too dark and tacky. Thats just my opinion though.

POLY keep it looking original. Add ons and body kits get dated quickly. There's not many body kits that stand the test of time like the original car. Just my 2 cents.

the thing i don't like so much about those is the distinction between the turn portion and the running light portion, i see the same distinction on the rx7store ones. does anyone have a pic of the smoked ones?

Ignore the craptastic grey-ish front end. :p Paint is coming soon.

Here's a set of the clear ones on my Silver FD . IMO the clear ones look better on a lighter color car, Silverstone or CYM and the darker ones look better on MB or Red. I think if you have a Black FD you could go either way.

Good Luck

As requested: Clear lense, black housing. Not the greatest pictures, but you get the general idea. FWIW - I get tons of compliments on the way these turn signals look.

Where did you buy those clear turn signals from? I have a silver FD and would like a set like those. The ones on rx7store.net are clear but part of it is black.

OVERALL, they are probably one of the most important things that can be done to update the car.

I bought them about a year and half ago from RX7Store when they first came out. I haven't seen these being offered anymore. Maybe they're a collector's item now ?

I think new lights bring the front end more up to date...I probably wouldn't have paid $100+ for them. I won them at a Rotary Deals Gap meet.

Hey I have the same one's and I got them on eBay, don't exactly remember but I think they were around $100.00 - I'll look around for my receipt and let you know if I find more out...

I have the smoked with black on my red FD, I think they are a very good update to the stock lenses. Those rippled clear with amber lense lights look very 1990's.
