"Blacked out" with no chrome ring around each light..basically...three round circles...similiar to the actual 99's.... shoot, the way I'm describing how these lights SHOULD look. Blacked out with just the circles....that would make them look just like the 99's.. lol


I gotta admit though, I do kind of like how it looks like there's a buncha separate bulbs in there...kinda like a G35 or something.

I never understood ppl's fascination w/ LEDs. Ok, so they're aiight on a G35. That don't mean you put 'em on your FD! I personally REALLY hate LEDs, esp how every carmaker is jumping on the bandwagon and sticking LEDs in their tailights...

 

The ones with the black background aren't so bad, expecially over a dark colored 7. They're just like the RX-8 tails, but the chrome ones are another story. Just my .02.

i'm w/ the 99%. i think those tailights look absolutely gross.

I do slightly agree that the back background ones look slightly better. but it still deserves a C- grade for elegant look.

The lights remind me of blinking plastic chrome robots from the 90's. It totally cheapens the car's look.

Those things are ugly. Cant stand them. Saw them in person on a white FD at rotorfest this past summer. What a dissapointment. You own the best color (in my opinion) on an FD, and you ruin it.

 

Put your car up for sale NOW. Then go buy a POS Neon and put all the ricey crap on that to your heart's content. You should have plenty of money from the sale too.

i think i have seen at least 2 people on this forum who have them...and...god i just dont know. it makes me want to cry.

 

the black ones look decent and I wouldnt say they are honda or too rice because they actually mimmic the RX8 lights. If mazda were to make new factory lights for these cars as 06 spec they would probably look similar to the black ones considering their design these days. It does however have to be on the right colored car and the altezza look is stupid as hell.....bleh

 

Wow everyone thinks of these tail lights as I do about non-popup headlight And everyone has flush head light kits on there now ugly FD. Just say NO to these taillights and Headlight kits!!!!!!!!

 

OK, OK, I admit it. I put them on my FD last summer. Got them as a gift from my younger nephew, and I gotta say, they do look alright. I put on the clear front turnsignals and the clear sidemarkers to match, and if you scroll to the bottom of the page and look at the OLD pictures of the car, i beleive the changed lights all around give the car a much NEEDED update in appearance.
Just for the record, I bought this car new in 1994, and after 12 years it was time for an update! I also bought my supercharged 81 in 86, so yes I am a LONG time owner and driver of fast cars, not a ricer wannabee!! I've owned 7's longer than many on the list have been in diapers...hehe

Ramy, I guess if I needed a Lite Bright I would go to Toys'R'Us. The yellow one does make you think, but when you focus on them real close it really does rice out the car. The 99 spec lights are where its at, not broke don't fix it (if you already have them) LED's suck. Just like Ramy I can't get into that, even the pre auto led kit doesn't strike my fancy.

 

that is easily the best I have seen them look. I think its because of the silver. It does not seem to stick out and look so rice on your ride. Nice car BTW.

 

I disagree. I think it still looks riced out. I've seen that wing and Enkei rims on soooo many ricer civics around socal. The combination of all three just reinforces a ricey look IMO.

 

Hash, not to cause any arguments, but i did look at your profile and your engine and car mods are PRETTY weak, yet you still use that huge *** Scoot C/F hood .....probably unpainted, looking all nasty on your underpowered 7.....and it weighs maybe a pound less than the stock Aluminum hood....No real function except to channel rain into your engine bay......

To tell you guys the truth, I'm still undecided if the tails are gonna stay on this summer. I di keep the originals, and was thinking of getting them done with the cool circles everyone is using. Anyone have an idea who does this on the East coast at a good cost?

Thanks Sonic7 for the kind words on the car, but the tails may still go...I know you were just being nice to a noob on the forum, and it's much appreciated! Maybe i should start a thread and take a vote on keeping or getting rid of them. We probably know how that will turn out. Just dont want to see the expression on the nephews face when he sees his gift has been uninstalled

 

Last question:
How about the C/F Front lips and door handles? Are these considered rice too?
I was interested in these, but now this thread has me second guessing myself...
Anybody?
