cleaning K & N filters..

Probably a simple answer but is there an optimal way to clean K & N filters (dual cones)? Just soap and water or a solvent...any input welcome.

No soap, just luke-warm water gently running through from the clean side, let it air dry and re-oil.
Check on their website for actual instructions.

K & N markets a cleaning kit that is a water based degreaser in a spray bottle.

It also comes with a small spray can of oil to re-oil the filter after it dries.

The directions are on the side of the bottle.
