clean engine on FD?
I used to have an 82 RX7 years ago and I was able to use engine cleaner then just hose the engine off, infact my other car is a miata and I can do that just fine also.
I would not dare do this to my FD, yet I would like to keep the compartment clean. How do you FD owners keep yours clean? I assume you cant hose the engine off. Any ideas?

Do it right, do it once

Hose it off. I use Castrol Super clean, just take care to not leave it on aluminum parts for a long time or the exterior paint.
I've hosed the engine compartments of 8 of the 9 FD's I've owned. Most of them several times. You can use a pressure washer if you want to just don't point it directly at electrical connections or the foam insulation that is on some hoses.
Do a search this is a common question. I just don't understand why people think you can't hose off the engine...
