Thumbs up check out my poor man's cold air intake

I finally got around to taking some pictures of my modified stock air box. Basically what I did is cut a hole in the bottom and fabricated a aluminum sheild to direct cold air from the side of the radiator into the air box. I got the idea from all the other cold air box's. The whole process took an afternoon and about 20 bucks. I can't tell if the car is faster but I am sure it is better than sharing air with the intercooler. you can see pictures at http://briefcase.yahoo.com/wickedrix
if anyone has any questions feel free to ask

the car does seem a little faster, but I can't tell if it is in my head or if it really is. I am going to the strip in a few weeks so i guess I will see then.

Personally I think this box might be better than an aftermarket one as far as being a cold air box. . My reasoning is that it pulls air from the same place but it is made of plastic. As far as I know plastic would resist heat better than carbon fiber and aluminum. does anyone agree with this.

I do plan on getting a m2 box when I get an intercooler, the stock box just doesn't look as cool. plus it would be in the way.

I already have a K&N drop in, that was the first thing I did to the car three years ago.
