Check out my car's maintenence records

My car is basically a one owner 1993 Brilliant Black RX-7 R1. The car has 35,644 miles on her now This car was owned by a retired old man up until I took the car into my care, about a month ago. This old man took extremely good care of the vehicle with meticulous maintenence. I have put roughly 100 miles on her since my care. I am staying up with the old man's maintenence myself, since I am quite meticulous as well. Never smoked in, never eaten in, and never drank coffee in, you would get yelled at if you put a paper cup on the car I was told by his friend. Anyways check out his records.

All maintenence records in chronological order with little side notes he wrote for whatever his reason. Complete records! He even has the original sign the dealer puts on the car after its sold. I am sure he even has the gas receipts somewhere.

Last pic is his own personal log. Let me take a few examples out of it....

1/9/1994 A.M. Broke Hood Rod Hold-Down Clip) -6 degrees Farenheit in A.M

2/19/94 (4370 MI) added 3/8 QT 'F'

3/9/94 Bent Key in Door Lock/ Lunch @ Boston Pizzeria

3/13/94 (4885 MI.) added 1/4 QT 'F'

....Skipped a lot of it since its basically maintenence stuff

7/16/ 94 One year old today (7781 MI.)

3/26/95 (12,000 MI.) 11:00 A.M Woodruff Rd. over I385 O'Pass....he even wrote down roads he went across and times of the days he performed things and places he went with the car.

Wow, clean car! And only 35K, eh? Nice find! Still got you beat, my '94 only has 29K. Where did you buy the car, and if you don't mind me asking, how much?

That has to be one of the best black paint jobs on an FD I have ever seen.

It looks like a mirror. Not a hint of orange peel or swirl marks.

Thanks for all the kind words guys Car has original paint and yet I have people come up and ask me where I got my new paint job since they wanted to paint their cars....makes me feel good!!! People also come up and ask what car is that?? despite the fact that there are many fds in Cali.

"Where did you buy the car, and if you don't mind me asking, how much?"
Bought it from an old gentleman from South Carolina for a little over 20k cash. I paid a premium but I feel its well worth it. Its not an investment but something I enjoy!

"It looks like a mirror. Not a hint of orange peel or swirl marks."
I actually used it to fix my hair lol, no swirl marks at all and no orange peel that I can see.

"Check out the black Speedline wheels too..."
I think they look a lot better now once I yanked off the red centercaps....I guess that style was hot back in the day

I parked the car outside and look outside to see many people walk by look at the car, walk further down, look at it again, walk a little more and turn around and check it out again haha. It feels really good. Car is in the garage sleeping with a car cover over her now.

Thanks guys!

nice ride man... although you got a pfc already? I would keep it as close to stock as possible except for the reliability mods... but it's up to you. Still a gorgeous car!

IMO pfc is a reliability mod. The car runs much better with it. You can monitor 16 (I believe) different sensors on your car including water temps, air temps, boost, duty cycle, and knock. It has better fuel management both in vacuum and boost and throughout the rpm range.

This is true, but if a 7 is close to stock anyway, i.e. only mods are dp, aluminum ast, boost gauge, then why would he need to monitor all those other things you mentioned? I would imagine the stock ecu would suffice... plus, you won't devalue your car as much by not modding the ecu...

Car looks great! Nice find on all the maint work. That was the thing that settled my decision. The guy I bought my car from had everything too. It was amazing to look through all the service receipts and even upgrade receipts. I went through and put all the receipts in plastic covers and stuck them in a 3 ring binder. The second owner (I'm 3rd) went through and even made a detailed excel spread sheet that matches all the receipts. It makes it so much easier to keep up with everything. Keep her looking good!!!
