Check Light Malfunction
I was cruising home yesterday on the highway when all of a sudden the check light (the one to the right of the airbag check light) came on. The owner's manual calls this the "malfunction indicator light," and that it means there's a problem with engine electrical system. I checked under the hood and everything seems to be normal. All the instruments and lights inside and outside of the car works. When this light comes on does it mean something critical in regards to the engines has malfunctioned or does it just mean I have blown fuse? Any info is appreciated. Thanx.

Under your hood, if you open up your box labeled "Diagnostic" and use a wire/paperclip/metal object and connect "TEN" and "GND" together (while the car is off). Turn the ignition key and with a pen and paper, write down how many flashes the check light makes. Use L for a long flash and S for a short flash, then add the flashes up (L=10, S=1) and you then have your error code. Look up the code here: And you will know what your problem is.
