Just as a small update, I had it all in and buttoned up, and noticed when I was tightening one of the bolts I smacked the subframe with my ratchet, and chipped it pretty good. It was a bit disheartening because I tried to prep pretty well, but not wanting things "half-assed", I pulled everything back out and dropped the subframe off for powdercoating.

I used a rustoleum industrial primer/paint.
