Charging System mystery..
Well my 95 is in the shop for the third time for the same problem in 2 years. It's definitely electrical, and the warning signs leading up to it is when I turn the power on with key, I hear both the power window motors and door locks clicking/running. When this occurs the car doesn't start or even try to turnover, after 2 more trys it starts right up everytime.
Then, after a month or so of this the gauge lights will just come on one day, as you drive though they fade until they are completely gone, and come back on when you come to a stop. This lasts for several days to a week and then finally it will just completely die, extremely low on energy to almost none, barely has enough power to pop up just one headlight. I have gone through a few alternators and batteries thinking it was one of those things, each time it only dissappears temporarily and comes back within 6-9 months. Thoughts, suggestions? electrical can be a bitch.
Thanks

Electrics are a bitch mate,,, especially with a problem like your describing because it sounds to me like youve got a problem with the harness somewhere, sounds like a wire is shorting to the body or another connection somewhere and killing either your batter or alternator. Your gonna have to check the wiring harness fully especially the starting charging circuit. (ive personally never had to do this job but i cant see it been easy to find maybe you know a good auto electritian), sorry mate thats all i can really help.

Agreed, you have a ground fault somewhere that is intermittently draining your battery. Unfortunately, it's going to take some patience and work to find it.
