I just got home from driving my fd I noticed that when I stopped the charge battery light was on and also the red lights on the oil pressure and water temp guages were on..... and to make things stranger I found that if i reved up the engine they would fade out.. but as the revs dropped they would lighten up again... any ideas????

Ok I found the solution in the forums... I searched brefore posting but hey.
Looks like it's the alternator or alternator related.. i'll have a play around.

 

dead alternator mate,,,in a day or two your battery will be flat

 

yup, get an alternator. exact symptoms mine had when it went out.

Giving this a bump since I am having the exact same problems. The lights fade away when revs increase. The go completely out after 4000rpm.

I am thinking maybe the voltage regulator? Is it in the alternator itself or outside?
