charge control solenoid wiring to ecu
charge control solenoid wiring to ecu
Has anyone ever had an open or short in the wire from pin 4T of the ecu to the charge control solenoid (white connector) in the rats nest....I would like to know what symptons this would cause... the manual states ..."the ecu fixes the ignition timing and fuel injection amount ...causing poor acceleration and lack of power"....would like to know what is meant by that statement
presently, I'm reading about 7 ohms on that line and have no power plus my timing shifts to about 30 degrees off after the engine warms and the throttle is tapped
if anyone has ever had the solenoid fail or an open or short in this circuit would appreciate the details of how your car behaved.
thanks Dave

is the short before the connector or before the solenoid?
the solenoids are all the same if they have the same amount of nipples in the same place so just use another one and try it out.
how is your car responding? I'd think this would affect your boost a lot.

Thanks for the reply Snook,
To answer your question, the wire is between the solenoid connector and the ecu. As you inadvertently allude to… swapping out the solenoid would have no affect, since the wire is after the solenoid. I know this is repetition from my previous thread but... I am measuring about 7 ohms on this wire, neither a short nor open. The car has no power (unable to drive) backfires and the check engine light flickers but no codes are set. I have read that the check engine codes for output devices (which includes the charge control solenoids) are not memorized. After the engine is warm and I tap the throttle the timing shifts about 30 degrees.
