Changing The Oil

OKay, first time ever on my FD. Can I just buy a new oil filter at pep boys or what? And what is a good thing to drain it into

You should be able to find the oil filter at most any parts store.

There are containers you can buy to drain the oil into. Most of them hold one or two oil changes worth of liquid.

Then, next time you go to the parts store to buy oil/filter, take it with you and dispose of the oil then. Works out well.

I think you should search the 3rd gen forum to see what's the best oil filter for your FD. Don't buy cheap oil filters.

If you want a cheap oil filter ($4) then Purolator is the best for the money. If you want to pay more ($10) then Mobile1 is pretty damn good. Just whatever you do don't buy Fram, they are bad.
Somewhere there was an article on the net where this guy cut open about 20 different filters and compared everything about them from filter element construction materials and number of pleats to the quality of the anti-drainback valves.

No offense but, they let people like this buy FDs?

Anyways, I alwasy use Mazda OEM oil fliters on my FC.
