i tried to change it from the top and no luck. i can get the wrench in there but couldnt move the wrench. so i jacked up the car and tried there. no luck.
the wrench is fawking huge. its a 19mm man.

 

you need to use a O2 socket! it should be an easy job

 

It's a 22mm and an open end will work from the top with the intake piping removed.

 

Yep, 22mm and once you get your car on jack stands its a 15 minute job to change the O2 sensor.

 

15 minutes??

Get an O2 socket and it will be a 3 minute job, plus no busted knuckles and no lifting of the car.

 

god dayum i just bought that o2 sensor wrench and it takes like 2 min. didnt know i couldnt do it with this special tool. thanks guys.

 

Where do you get one? Any autoparts store?

i got it at canadian tire dont know about u guy in the states.

 

you can get an O2 socket anywhere - sears, auto stores, snap on truck, mac truck, matco truck, ice cream truck.....

 

Very easy job, just do it when you throw in a DP. I could do it with eyes closed.

 

Funny how the right tools can cut the job in half and then some. I didn't have the right tools when I changed mine a year ago... and proceeded to remove the downpipe... got fed up and when to the autoparts store and bought the O2 socket for chump change... and got that sucker out in minutes.

 

Makes you wonder why manufacturers can't design an 02 sensor with a pop-off connector. Must be a tool company/smog **** conspiracy *cough*BOSCH*cough*
