Changing exhaust types... Opinions

Right now I'm running 3" from the DP to the muffler. That's it...no cat, and no pre-silencer, or resonator. As you can imagine the car is loud as hell. What would you all suggest as a means to quite it down? I'm running twins and the car is full Non-Seq.

ThanX

A resonator will help a lot. However, in the end, "the end" will play a big role in the sound. i.e. if you have an Apexi exhaust, it's going to be loud with or without a resonator. It will be quieter with the resonator, but still loud compared to most other exhausts.

I ran a Magnaflow exhaust in the midpipe on my last setup with the Apexi N1 at the end. Still pretty loud but much quieter than having a strait-pipe.

I'd have to second the RB dual tip and resonator. I've got that setup, and it's very mild sounding, but still rumbles, at lower rpm's. When I give it wot, though, it gets as loud as I'll ever want a car to sound.

I have only a dp, stock cat, and Racing Beat dual. The sounds put a bigass smile on my face. I guess I'm easy.

I used to have DP,MP w/out resonator, and Blitz CB. It was definately screaming loud. I hated it.

I then bought an rx7store resonated midpipe with a racing beat dual tip. So i basically had 2 resonators on the car, and it sounded perfect. Nice quiet tone at idle and everyday driving (kept local authorities away), but screamed at WOT.

Here's a video of my dyno last year, you can compare the difference.

Mahjik is very right. The end does play a huge role in it. Right now I'm running the stock twins sequential no resonator, no cats, just straight pipe all the way back to a re-amemiya dolphin tail. And it sounds beautiful. Even at full throttle its great.
