Changed ECU then Back and now wont start

Well, I was trying to put my PFC back in and see if it would work again. Well I put it in and it starts and drives around and runs good and im thinking cool it works. Well I get back to the house wash the car and some other BS and try to start the car to go somewhere and bam same ol **** as last time I put the PFC in, car wont start.

So I put the Pettit ecu back in that has never failed me, it starts right up with it and same thing as the PFC bout 2 hours later it wont start with it now. Turns over fine just wont fire up.

Any suggestions, I havent done any trouble shooting yet but will this weekend. Just thought I would throw it out here and see if anyone had any ideas.

No suggestions at all as to what it could possibly be?

Might not be a problem with the ECU at all - could be a tired motor, leaky injectors, worn plugs and wires....

Well the engine has around 10k on it so Im leaning away from that, leaky injectors could quite possibly be the problem im looking into replaceing the secondaries now with some 1300's anyhow. Ill check the plugs and wires this weekend but they are not that old either. Im going to do alot more trouble shooting and hopefully get it running tomorrow.

Are you sure you didn't flood your motor somehow?

Well I thought that might be it too, so i pulled the relay and cranked it a couple of times to get any excess fuel out and then put it back in and it still wouldnt fire up. Im gonna pull the plugs in the morning and see there.

You might want to check the fuel injection coolant sensor (or thermosensor) or something like that. Like with the A/C switch issue, the PFC might have had a problem if the readings fell slightly outside of it's specs. And perhaps when you reinstalled the Pettit it probably completely went out.

Well, I pulled the pettit back out today and reconnected all the pluggs to it and tried it again. It fired right up. Donno what it was must have been a loose connection in the harness, since I have the boost controller harness and a multitimer harness in there also. It runs fine again. Now just gotta figure out why the PFC wont work as I tried it again today to no avail.

The thermosensor will fail because of heatsoak. Did you let the car cool down before you installed the Pettit unit the first time? It's usually fine while cool fuel is flowing through the fuel rail but once the fuel sits and has a chance to absorb heat, that's when it fails.

The fuel themosensor simply tells the ECU when to switch the solenoid for the fuel pressure regulator - when hot, it bumps up the fuel pressure a bit for a minute or so. I've bypassed that solenoid on MANY FC's with little to no change in hot starting behavior - people with aftermarket FPR's do exactly the same thing. May make the car idle a little rougher or take another crank or two to start, but it wouldn't manifest as a total no-start I wouldn't think.
