Change Before It Happens

I posed something similar to this question before, but I have a different question....

93 FD sitting at 100K original motor still running fine... You guys said in a before thread.. that to run it until it dies, and im Thinking replace the seals BEFORE they go... that way i dont damage something else while im waiting for it to go? What do you guys think ?

At 100k your rotor hosuings are going to be pretty tired. The only other things you really have to worry about being hurt by a blown seal are rotors and turbos. I wouldn't tear apart an engine for no real reason, but it's always an excuse for a street port.

Talking

Yeah, thats what i was plan'n doing while the motor was out. I just thought it would be easer, and less heartach if i jump the gun and do it before it goes.

Youre from P-Cola... do you know a guy named Mike In FortWaltonBeach with a red FD?

The name doesn't sound familiar, but if I saw him I might recognize him.

If your motor has 100k on it, then it might be a smart thing to get a rebuild before anythign blows. If you have the cash then go for it, that way if it did blow you wouldn't have to pay more for parts that could possibly be damaged. How are the turbos doing, do they have 100k as well and what boost are have u been running then on?

Compression test the motor first and then go from there.
