CGI Relay

Is there a trick to removing the Fuel Pump Relay (next to the main relay)? I have pulled and tried squeezing the sides, etc. but can't seem to get it to loosen up. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,

Jeff

I assume your talking about the green fuel pump relay. First remove the top cover as seen above. Next remove the second cover that the top cover snaps to.
Next remove the fuses next to the relay and then pull the relay out ( they can be difficult to remove) Just work it side to side and back and forth and it should come out.

I use a channel-lock pliers to gently pull it out. Rock it back and forth very slightly while pulling. Don't crush it.

Mine's not bad anymore since it gets pulled from time to time, but maybe a little dielectric grease on the terminals would help a lot here.

Main thing I wanted to make sure of was there wasn't a lock or catch which needed me to squeeze in the sides or something to unlock. Sounds like it is just in there tightly.

As mentioned, it's just stuck in there. You can try to spray some electronics cleaner in there to loosen it up a little. I used a similar method as dgeesaman described. I used pliers and just VERY GENTLY gripped it; a little wiggle and it came out. I did use a little dielectrical grease when I reinstalled.
