Cell Shaded 7

Hey, I don't post very often, mostly just read, educating myself. Thought you would maybe enjoy this piece i just finished. The technique is called cell shading in case you were curious. Not incredibly hard, but very very tedious. The picture I used as an underlay is from import speed south. In a few years when I actually am in a position to afford one, this is probably what i'd do to it.

I made a quick pic similar in style, but not as good using Photochop in about 1 minute... I'd like to know the technique to do one by hand....

Hey back from vacation, ya i use photoshop. I select various areas i want to have different tones and I use the "stroke" function, then use paintbucket to fill in, but using different layers so i can adjust hue, saturation, and darkness in each zone. A pretty basic technique, but like i said, tedious. Actually the best way to cell shade is to draw the lines in Adobe Illustrator then work on it in photoshop, but I've never bothered to learn it.

That looks really sweet Rayn, really graphic, although I'd probably give more contrast between the different tones of yellow, ya know, accentuating the curves a little more. I've done a few other cell shades except without black lines. An e36 m3, two ferrari 250 gto's, and an incomplete tvr tuscan r.

If you guys want me to do a cell shade for you, you can post or send me a pic, and if it's good enough to inspire me to spend 4+ hours on it, then i just might do it. If not i'm sure someone else probably could. The most important thing is the picture should be at a good angle and at high enough resolution.

And by all means, go ahead and continue with the post whoring, love the shirt.
