Question Cat-back exhaust Q (still new to FDs)

Sorta miss my FB, didn't have to be paranoid about that one .

A friend gave me a cat-back set up that he was running on his R1 before he sold it. 2.5" pipe that just bolts up. No muffler. Stock cats/downpipe, all that stuff. Everything else in the car is stock too.

Do I need to be worrying about boost creep/spikes or running lean with just that? I haven't gotten my boost gauge installed quite yet, probably this weekend (I don't daily drive the car though anyway).

Thanks

Ok, so you have the original pre-cat and main cat, and want to install a straight pipe from the main cat back to the rear bumper? Never heard of that one. You won't get spike or creep as long as the main cat is in. I wonder what it'll sound like.....

It's on. I think the biggest advantage is probably the pretty decent weight savings. I like the sound. Surprising not very loud (turbos do a good job there), quiet under boost. Get a nice pop on shifts.

Yeah, all cats are there. It was free and even delivered, so why not. Guy he bought his car from was into Solo II real big. He ran his in SS. My guess is he had it made just trying to get some advantage, and anything except for cat-back would have bumped him out of stock class.

Like I said, I don't think it makes too much of a difference. I like the sound and being lighter probably helps. But it's definitely not worth the chance of f'ing up my car.

You should do a lot of research before you do ANY mods to your car. Put in the boost gauge first. Make sure it is working before changing anything.
