Exclamation Car's in shop - radiator issue - help!

Hey guys. My car overheated the other night and I blew a radiator hose. Been at the shop for almost a week now, and they finally got the part in. They tried to start the car - and it doesn't start up! So. They hooked up the battery to a charger, and took the radiator cap off. The mechanic said the car still wouldn't start up and prayed radiator fluid out the top (where the cap was)... so he turn the key off. He said that doesn't seem normal, but he wasn't sure, not being too familiar with rotaries. Is this normal or not? Also, was thinking the car might be flooded, but it has been sitting for 5 days now... would that rule it out?

Appreciate any advice.

coolant should not spray out the fill cap when you are cranking the motor. Of course it will spray out if you open it when the motor is hot

The motor should start up fine even if it's been sitting there for a week. It could be possible you damaged something when the car overheated. But i'd check the basics, fuel pressure, spark, air, and reset the ECU while you are at it.

It's possible that it's flooded. Print out this page and have the mechanic try it:

If that doesn't work, it's possible that you did damage the seals.

The coolant seals might have been damaged when the car overheated. Damn, those things are fragile.
Car won't start normally cuz coolant might be in the engine. You gotta try a few times to make it start.
Bring it to a rotary shop and have them check it out.

Well - this will make you all laugh....

I was driving my car BACK from KD Rotary to Connecticut when this all happened!

I got stuck in a f**in traffic jam, the temps kept creaping up... they hit 115C and then the hose burst. Don't tell me the seals are gone - I think I'm going to go postal. I had just had the turbos rebuilt and the car was running perfect all the way home. I'm so freaked out right now I can't even work. I have no more money to spend on this car!

Arggghh!!!!!!!
