Cars auto revving! help!

I just put in a single turbo and when i get it to crank it just starts revving up on its own and i have to kill it cause im scared of it hitting redline. I have no clue whats wrong...

everytime i try to crank it after, its flooded and i have to take out the spark plugs and clean out the fuel and put ATF in to get it to fire back up then the revs just shoot way up. Ive seen it go up to 5,000 rpm in hopes that it will stop revving after 3 - 4 k and it seems liek it doesnt intend on stopping.

I have my maps loaded on my power fc for 4X 850 cc injectors and since the 850s were flooding the engine way worse i put the stock 550s back in just to see if it will not flood with the 550s. could that be an issue?

ive taken the uim off about 3 times rechecking all the connections and all the vaccum lines are in and so are the 4 connectors i still use on the uim. The throttle cable seems fine it only opens when i push down on the pedal...

Thanks for any feedback

The only way you can get the RPM's that high is simple - you're giving the engine air past the throttle plate. Either the throttle is stuck open, the AWS system is stuck open, etc.

Pull the intake elbow off and watch the throttle plates as a buddy pumps the gas pedal - they should open and close smoothly. I've seen people modify throttle bodies and have the linkage jam up and hold the throttle plates open.

Accelerated Warmup System. It's what gives you the 3000 RPM cold start. It's bolted to the upper intake manifold, and there's a hose going from it to the intake elbow - it's the big 1" or so hose that's on the back of the intake elbow, that feeds the AWS solenoid.

agreed.

is your throttle cable too tight?

is it revving fast or slow?

the throttle cable isnt tight at all. someone said it oculd be the cruise control throttle so i have to take off the elbow and check that. its not revving insanely fast. lets just say i have enough time to catch it and pull out the key when its revving up at about 3500 rpm

My car did the same thing and I knew there was a leak somewhere but couldn't find it. I eventually found out I forgot to put the idle speed controller back on

injectors seated properly?

did you remove the primary rail at all?

if you did, there is a plastic spacer that is easy to forget...
