mines are more like the n-tech ones rather then the cwc ones as they do not blow very much air on to the face of the rotor and force most of the air in to the eye of the rotor yet have the sheilding part to protect against splashs also note that mines have provisons for a hose while the cwc ones do not!

as far as poor knockoff, do you think the cwc ones are originals/unique? lots of people do make them and these are my version. by your reasoning, i guess every single jgtc/leman/ car has a knock off of the cwc one huh?

I’m sure hes thankful for that comment

Don’t worry about it skunks, most people don’t have the appreciation of what building something from scratch with minimal tooling and equipment entails.

Good job it should get the cooling job done just fine even if they are not perfect knockoffs.

The only thing that I am looking at is the tubing you used to direct the air at the rotor.
I remember you talking about deciding placement or size, but from the pic the ports look a little small compared to other designs.
That is just a PVC coupler so you can get all the pieces to just plug in right?

Also you have a PM

yeah, that is just a pvc pipe wrapped with cf, easiest way for me to make a circular peice with enuf strenght so you could strap a worm clamp around it and not collapse it (i could have made a equivilent peice out of cf but it would have weights the same and might not have given as much support). it turns out the stock eye diameter is only 1.5 inches so i got a 1.5 inch pvc pipe so yeah, its much smaller then others have it (cwc/n-tech is at least like 3 inchs but it blows on to the face of the rotor which some people say have lead to cracking/warping of the rotors much faster.) the out side diameter of the hose piping is closer to 2 inches though as i think the pvc pipe i bought was for the coupler of a pipe with a inside diameter of 1.5 inchs.

in anycase, this should solve a lot of the clearance issues with the brake lines and abs sensor lines. i will be suggesting to get a 2 to 3 inch rubber coupler which can allow more air and offer a venturi effect to speed up air to the eye of the brake rotor.

i just though about it again and was trying to figure out how they would be knock offs of the cwc ones as the designes are so different and came to the conclusion, you must think everything made out of cf is originally made by cwc; is this right? could you actually be this stupid? i mean it did not dawn on me untill just now that someone could be this moronic haha. please say it aint so!

opps. sorry about that (i have been thinking about how mines are knockoffs, also i just got home from work and the previous post were right before i went to work), in anycase, i think they are pretty stiff and they are still in the development stages, ill keep on adding layers untill its thick enuf, rightnow its 2 layers of 12k12k twill cf and it seems like it should hold up.

my next pair might be just oval plates as im 95% sure the bends on the stock shields are because they kinda stick out/in to the fender. we will see...

there are a couple of reasons why to go with cf

1st: its nice, its got a nice finish i think although some dont like it, "if you have the means-i seriously suggest you get one" - ferris buller quote.

2nd: its fairly light weight (probally nothing you will notice but its nice to be able to say you are doing everything possible to weight reduction a car )

3rd: its easy for me to work with, cf is a very forgiving material as i can mold it/shave it/turn it in to anything i wish.

4th: its which should really not get hurt that badly, cf is fairly durable

5th, its suppose to double as a shield, its suppose to get dirty and scratch by rocks

Doesnt Ferris (say I suggest picking up one up?) hehe on the ferrari right, damn that movie was funny..

Yeah when I asked will it be cool, I meant for rocks and *****, rocks heat etc....

The ones I saw before from some companies were aluminum, with the same set-up and a hose etc... They were on race cars, but they didnt use CF, I wonder why since they are big on weight reduction.

Not that it means its bad, I know CF is damn strong...
