Anyone aware of someone making the stock black FD diffuser in carbon fiber. I'm suprised that no one has jumped on that one. You'd sell a ton of them IMO!

You mean the lip that's under the rear bumper? Hmm..not a bad idea. Maybe Chuck will give it a shot. The upside is, it won't melt like all the other plastic stock ones, but the downside is, if fitment isn't spot on, you can't make it any better...

Yes, that's the part I'm talking about. If it were me, I'd buy a brand new part through someone like MazdaComp to get the lowest price. That way you'd be sure that the new part was in spec and not distorted before making your mold. Seriously, I think this part in carbon fiber would look sweet and sell like hotcakes. You'd know within the first 2 or 3 test specimens if you had any fitment issues and could make adjustments then before mass producing them. If I had a local contact with extensive carbon fiber experience I'd be making them already!

mine is CF'd by mark kock before he quit doing carbon fiber overlays. When its on the car, it is really subtle. You wouldn't know it was CF'd unless you got close. But really, it serves no purpose at all and I'm not too sure it would sell like hot cakes, unless it was a knock off of the mazdaspeed diffuser which has more purpose. The part is too cheap and I doubt anyone would spend the money just to cf the apron when they could spend the money on a diffuser instead....I kinda wish I would have bought the mazdaspeed diffuser below.

Ya sure? The Mazdaspeed rear diffuser (not sure if it's the one in the pic...the angle is real bad) ONLY fits the Mazdaspeed exhaust. Heres [ics of BOTH types they have...BOTH of which don't provide much clearance for an exhaust at all... (save their own):

I'm with you on that one. The one you posted fits the stock bumper much better. Its like a much more subtle RE-A diffuser. If only it werent a) almost impossible to get, and b) freakin expensive.

13Bmaniac, i dont know anyone in particular, but i'm fairly sure there is someone else out there who will custom wrap interior parts in carbon fiber. I've seen listings on ebay for this type of work, so there must be some other place that does it. It'll just take a bit more searching.

ROTORhead93 - i just had the shifter panel done that you see in those pictures...
as for price, you're going to have to ask fazzt73 about that. mine was done at no cost.

I would be interested in the shifter panel and possibly the A/C panel and the door plastics.

I'd be in for the whole thing - speedo panel, a/c panel, shifter panel, driverside switch panel, and possibly even the passenger side switch panel.

So are these 100% carbon fiber panels or are they just the overlays. If they are overlays are they removable or permanantly installed. Fazzt73 did you spray clearcoat on that pice picture or is that just straight epoxy?

its the same thing mark koch was doing before he quit....you send the pieces you want done, then its covered in CF and clearcoated.

how could you think that was an overlay? overlays look like total ****, if you want an overlay kit check out the other carbon fiber thread...those kits are a total waste of money, i'd never put one on my car
