Carbon Fiber Hard Pipes?

i was just wondering if any company made carbon fiber hard pipes for the intake? knowing that aluminium transfers heat so well wouldnt carbon fiber be the answer? ive seen this sort of thing for lots of cars but have yet to come across one for the fd. even my '01 VW GTI VR6 had a carbon fiber CAI, the whole thing was carbon except the filter obviously, and it worked great, and looked pretty **** hot aswell

FWIW, carbon fiber strands have a much higher thermal conductivity than aluminum - even a little higher than copper. The epoxy between the fibers keeps the conductivity down to more reasonable levels.

Unless you're bursting aluminum pipes and need more strength, there isn't a need for carbon fiber composite. It's lighter, cheaper, and less conductive to wrap aluminum in something like silicone rubber tape for insulation.
