Car wont start up again when warmed.

This is a problem with a friend's 93. After we start it and let it warm up, it wont start again. it will crank not start. ive searched and havent found any similar issues with other threads. Can anyone point out some things for me to look at?

might have a cracked seal.. It is a symptom of hard to hot-start. Get a compression test done. G

Start with checking the Fuel Pressure Regulator solenoid (and its vacuum lines).

Poor compression caused by anything creates warm start issues. +1 for getting a compression test.

+2 on the compression test.

Happened to my friends T2 last year.

No compression on rear rotor.

a bad starter solenoid will do it too. I replaced my starter and fixed the problem. That's more of a classic muscle car issue/fix, but it's still a possible fix.

when my coolant temp sensor was bad, it was hard to crank when it was hot. the ECU thought the car was still cold and was dumping in too much fuel. But I got a check engine light which led me to the problem. replaced the sensor, and is fixed.

ive got the same problem... it happened twice yesterday after running errands driving around (cruising, not under much boost) in the 93 degree humid heat.

when it does start up... on the second try... i get a HEAVY fuel smell out the exhaust. my check engine light doesnt come on but im guessing thats because i have an old g-force ECU.

the odd thing is, i had my coolant temp sensor replaced almost four years ago. how long do those things last?
