Cheap or proper way?

How long have you tried to start it up?

Primed the fuel pump?

I did the non-seq conversion and for some reason I have really hard time with start up's something with no fuel or not enough fuel. Im currently looking into it.

okay, so you have fuel. did you check for spark on both rotors?

the temp gauge and oil pressure issues sounds like a definite wiring problem. i would double check the harness connections.

If you can smell fuel DON'T start it. Find out where the fuel smell is coming from before you even attempt to fire her up.

I 2nd that, look around for small puddles or try to trace it, It may be on top of the motor behind the 2 lines that feed the injectors.

Also if you can smell fuel in the car then it most likely flooded if everything is hooked up correctly.

vacuum leak, IAC, just to name a few, also EGR flow issues can cause high idle.

The RPM typically jump to 3000rpm for Mazda's 'Accelerated Warmup System' however a quick blip of the throttle will drop it to 1400-1500rpm. After the engine is up to temperature it will idle between 600-900rpm.

As with most fuel injected/computer controlled vehicles, the idle isnt really adjustable, it is computer controlled... if the idle is high I would recheck all connections and lines... also assure your MAF is reading correctly along with your other sensors.

anyone know the correct placement of the three fuel lines. I think I'm having the same problem, only mine cranks, but I don't think fuel is getting to it. Thanks
