car wont start...crank...nothing

whats up guys. I went to drive my car to work a few nights ago and it wouldn't start. I turn the key and go to crank it and nothing happens...no clicking...no nothing. its not the battery, and its not the starter. im being told it could be the neutral safety switch. is that possible? im also told I can bypass it, which I would like to do but not 100% sure. the videos I saw it looked like the wires were cut then just twisted together. can someone give me some insight? thanks in advance and ill be waiting for some good advice! also im not 100% sure where that switch is. the video looked like it was a plug right down next to the clutch.

nevermind. I figured it out. the little plastic/rubber grommet that is on the clutch pedal, that pushes in the switch...broke off. so I pushed the switch in with my hand and it started right up
