Question Car won't start-3rd week-can't figure this out

Recently, I bought a Power FC and it turned out that it was keeping my injectors @WOT when the key was in the on position(yeah, I know-fuel shower). Stock ECU was put back in and the mess was cleaned up and we finally got it started and took it out for a while. However, now I cannot get the car started again(with the stock ECU) the wires that are cut for the PFC swap are still disconnected, but nothig else has changed. I know I'm getting fuel, I know theres spark and I know I have compression. Before, I could get it started, it would run for about a minute then sputter black smoke( running rich I guessed) and then would die. Then would remove and clean or replace plugs and do it again and again and again. While having the car running we'd pull the circuit relay and this would smooth out the idle like it was fine (for a about a minute, until it would run out of fuel pressure).
I cannot get the car started at all now. You can hear it wants to turn over when on the first crank, but after the first crank, it loses cranking power and justs whines to start. Anyone with advice/ideas, please- thanks

HAve you had your car hooked up w/ jumper cables to another running car? Also if some of the wires are cut why not put them put them back together? see if that helps...

are you pulling any codes on the stock ecu? try resetting it by pulling neg batt terminal and stepping on brake for 1min or so. how did you test for fuel/spark/compression? with all 3 of those, you have to have combustion. obviously something is missing from that equation.

How did you figure that your PFC was doing sumthing wrong ? That doesnt seem right to me, Also Skunks is right, your car should be starting if you have all of these...You say it whines to start after the first crank, is it that your battery is crap or is it whining like a flooded rotary ?

the wires clipped deal with the accelerated warm up feature and also egr, along with a couple of other things that I can't remember. The stock ecu will see these as being missing and throw a code. Also, your 02 might be crapped out now. Plug the PFC back in and go to the sensor/switch screen and see if any are highlited for errors.

First off, I figured out the Power FC was doin' sumpthin' wrong when I'd take the intake plenum off and turn the key to the on position, and fuel would shower into the lower intake manifold kinda like it does when your @ W.O.T. cept, 2ndarys only kick on when your @ Absolute Manifold pressure- that kind of tipped me off a litttle. Yes, I've tried to jump the car at least 10 times. No. I'm NOT throwing any codes. Yes, I've reset the ECU at least 10 times as well and the stock ECU DOESNT SEE ANY CODES. The O2 sensor is brand new and no freakin' way am I going to plug the PFC back in. I know I have fuel cause I can pull a secondary and it's dripping wet, I know I have spark cause I've ground out my wires w/plugs in them to the motor and I know I got air because- well, I mean, do I really need to go there?

Your ECU SHOULD be throwing codes, since it controls the accelerated warmup and you cut the wires to it and the egr. EGR on page 23, no. 28, AWS is on F-24 no 38.
So since your not getting codes with your new ecu installed, then something else is screwed up. Did you cut the correct wires?

Looking at the manual - F-192 under cranks normally, but will not start, no combustion.

check the following -
fuel pump, circuit opening relay, igniter, ignition coil, spark plugs, ignition timing, crank angle sensor (NE) crank angle sensor (G), throttle sensor (narrow range), starter signal, and finally - compression down and ECU.

Does the stock ecu throw fuel into the chambers with just the key turned to acc?

You said that it sounds like it wants to start on the first crank then it just cranks and cranks? Maybe its flooding on you. Try cranking it with the gas pedal all the way down. Also, try hooking it up to a good battery or another car while cranking. Have you looked at the plugs? are they still good? did your MAP sensor line come off? check those and keep us updated!
good luck

Neil

do the ol' auto tranny fluid trick, instant compression and it should fire up.

Yes, I've changed plugs 5 times. I've reconnected the wires that were cut , the blue/yellow, brown/yellow, black/red, blue/green. I have not got any CEL though- No, the stock ECU does not throw any fuel when the key is in the on pos. I just borrowed a really nice Snap-on scan tool, we're going to hook it up and search. If we don't get any thing then I guess we'll have to refer to the manual -F- 192 and search each individual circuit. Thanks all, keep checking back on me with this.

Well, the PowerFC is def. bad. I hooked up the scantool and got four codes. Four wires. Mike's car is now running, and ended up that the wires cut were related to TPS, Air temp, and Rear INJECTOR. However, I have a running R1 (on blocks ), and for testing purposes I took the PowerFC, and in under 10 seconds my manifold had a ton of fuel in it, nearly hydrolocking the motor. We didn't think the PowerFC was really bad, only that the cut wires were grounding out and causing the issues. I wasnted to check, and wow...

No fun. Motor is ok, his car is running.

Now on to getting my manual rack in, abs removal finsihed up, intercooler piping finished and knock sensor code figured out, as limp mode sucks.
