Car won't crank or start

I'm thinking it won't crank or start because the battery has not been in the car for over 6 months, finally I put car back together and it won't crank, but it'll turn on. I tried charging it, let it charge for 2 days, and it still won't crank. Could it be that the battery won't stay charged or not enough power to start it?

Any other options or opinions will be greatly appreciated, thanks.

If there is no cranking at all I'd check out the starter.

Thanks. I just put the Ultimate fuel system in my car, relocated battery to rear bin, new turbo timer, and new fluidyne radiator. I know I hooked everything up right thoe, if that could be any reasons why it won't crank. Could it be to much air in my car or fuel system to keep it from cranking and starting?

If there is zero crank I'd make sure the starter is getting power, the solenoid is getting power when the key is turned, and that when the solenoid is getting power that is does engage and spin.

Ok, now I got it to crank. But it still isn't starting. I also looked in the fuse box under the hood, and there was a fuse that was shot. I replaced it. Still cranking, but no start.

Make sure your getting fuel and spark and as jmeyer93 suggested see if your spark plugs may be too dirty/wet.

I know i'm getting fuel because I pressurized my fuel system last night for the first time it and it held it's pressure til it went back to the tank.

I'll pull out the plugs and see if they're wet and if they're bad.

check if you got fire, remove the circuit relay, use an old spark plugs you have lying around or remove one, remove the wire, plug the spark plug, hold it thight on the engine to get a good ground, make sure you don't touch the spark plug so you won't get a shock and have someone crank the engine. See if there is spark on the spark plug. Try it on both leading and trailing.

First, check and make sure you have fuel in tank.
When you are sure that you are getting fuel/fuel pressure. What was your reading with key on? And does it stay within the spec and +/- 5 psi after 30 minutes? I believe spec for the FD is around 32-35psi with key on.
If you get everything, car cranks and no start. Take out your spark plugs and make sure it is NOT flooded. If the spark plugs are wet, you are flooded. Deflood it and try cranking it again.
If all those doesn't work, make sure with key on, you have power to the starter like other stated.
if all that is good.
Check your ignition. I strongly DO NOT AGREED with puma on the way he is testing the ignition system. I would check and make sure all the plugs aren't fouled. Make sure the secondary section of the ignition system (spark plugs and wires to the coils) are good. Visual inspection and make sure there isn't any tiny hole or anything that can cause it to arc somewhere else causing insufficient spark to fire the spark plugs.

The above explanation should be enough to narrow down what you need to do next. Hope to hear from you.

Good luck
