car won't crank
so, i searched and read all the threads, but it seems that the issue is that there are multiple clicks. mine just clicks once, gauges and lights go out and stay out till i let go of the key. i cleaned the ignition and still the same. i've bypassed the clutch and security. i'm fixing to try a direct 12v. bad starter maybe? i swear i've heard it crank once when i just put the battery in. maybe my engine is seized...

Well, my engine has been sitting for 12 years. I was originally able to turn it by hand about a quarter of a turn before i couldn't. Now, i can turn it by hand. Even the first time, i was really tuggin on it. the lights pretty much go out. I put a direct 12v from the battery to the solenoid and still get the same click. Sounds like its hitting the fly wheel or something. with a engine this old, would it just be better to take it out now and rebuild it? Drop another motor in? Also, there is no coolant or brake fluid. Completely dry, Would i need to change all the brake lines and such?

Sitting for 12 yrs? You'll need to flush the entire brake and cooling system if it's been sitting that long and has gone empty.
The motor sounds like it's stuck. I might try a little MMO or even PB BLASTER in through the plug holes, turn it back and forth as much as you can by hand or FW and see if it loosens any. But I wouldn't expect alot at this point.

k, after reading up more. Don't think its the starter. I'm pretty sure my engine is locked up now. Whats confusing me is that i was able to move the engine a quarter of a turn when i first got it, and i swear i heard the starter turn it a bit. So if an engine with 50k miles has been sittin for 12 years, think its carbon deposit or broke apex seal? Should i still try to put some atf or mmo down or just begin taking it apart?

Again, I'm not a professional builder, but IMHO yes If it's seized that tight, you probably should just figure a rebuild. Even if you got it broken loose, it might do more harm than it's worth.
After a dozen years of sitting, soft seals and injectors etc. will need to be addressed. You really need to drain the gas tank, change fuel filter...really the entire fuel and brake system will need to be addressed. All coolant hoses, t-stat, vacuum lines etc too.

as dumb as it may sound, add some fluid(coolant, brake).Me personally would push start it to see if it turns on,of course after 12 years you also have changed the plugs, fresh gas also seems to help in the situation. After all,if the enginenis shot you have nothing to lose!
I just did this with my car after I shut it off and wouldn't start again, with my lights dimming like yours, etc.I push started it and figured it was the starter.
Good Luck

So, i have changed the oil with mobil 1, oil filter with k and n. New spark plugs, new belts. I added a gallon of fresh premium fuel. There is no coolant or brake fluid but I'm planning on redoing all of those so i rather not. I just want to see if i need to rebuild the engine of it'll still run first. I'm just trying to get an idea if this engine is salvageable since funds are hard to come by right now. Will adding brake fluid to a empty line be ok? I wouldn't be so frustrated if i didn't swear i heard it turn over before

man...seriously....if you can't take the plugs out and easily rotate this engine by hand....I wouldn't bother going much further. This engine is not forgiving like a piston engine with 'stuck rings' that has been sitting (yes, I have revived a couple of these using MMO and other solvents by taking the head(s) off and filling the cylinders and then let it sit for few days, then eventually broke it loose by hand rocking it back and forth), but the 13BREW could literally be damned near "grown together" by now.
I hope not, in your case but you have some SERIOUS issues and it all starts with determining IF the engine is truly 'seized'.
Good luck.
