Unhappy Car Will Run Fine ,then Will Run Realy Rich And Will Not Rev Up?

I HAVE A 93 RX-7
SOME TIMES WHEN THE CAR IS COLD, WHEN YOU START IT UP THE TURBOS WILL SPOOL UP TO 3000 LIKE THEY SHOULD AND WILL RUN FINE FOR A LITTLE BIT TILL IT WARM UP THEN IT WILL RUN REALY RICHER THAN NORMAL AND WILL NOT REV UP AND HARDLY RUN....
THEN SOME TIMES WHEN CAR IS COLD, WHEN I START IT UP THE TURBOS DO NOT SPOOL UP AT ALL , AND THE CAR RUNS RICHER THAN NORMAL AND HARDLY RUN ...
ANY ONE HAVE ANY IDEAS ON THIS THANKS

FD's have what is call an "Accelerated Warm-Up System" (AWS). When you start the car, the engine revs up to around 3000 rpms. You can stop this by either tapping on the gas when it starts or starting the car in gear.

As for the car running "rich", how do you mean "rich"? Make sure you are giving the car proper time to warm up.

Also, you really shouldn't be boosting when the engine is cold... In fact, I may be wrong but I think I remember there being something that keeps you from boosting beyond a certain point when the engine is cold to keep from damaging anything. Most of us don't even boost at all, and keep the rpms below 3k, until the engine is up to operating temp.

I think Double Throttle keeps engine from boosting a lot when cold.

OMG! Please take the caps lock off! and please use proper english, I know I'm getting off the topic here but come on. It just makes everything go smoother, anyways, I think you may be flooding the engine at those times. That's just my thought's, that may not be the problem, but it could be. Try searching for flooded engines and see if symptoms match up with yours and then you'll know if that's it or not.

Don't run car hard till its warmed up. And if its not the accelerated warm up, and the double throttle, you'll need to be more specific. and if I said something about caps. now I'd be 4 for 4 on what everyone else said.

Unhappy

thanks for writing back so soon
first thing is that i am not trying to bost my motor when it is cold!!!!, the (aws) does not kick on some times when the motor is cold(like over night)and when i start the car it will set there and run like realy bad. i cant even drive my car has no power after it is all warmed up .
then the next day ill go out and talk real nice to her(MY RX7) and the when i start the car the (aws) will kick in when i first start it like it should and then after its all warmed up ill drive it down the block , about a mile.
and it will start runing realy rich(than normal)and start back fireing , lose power, and will not want to rev up.
then ill cripple it back home let it set for a bit and then ill restart it and it will run fine... then it will start all over.. i dont know... would a h2o thermosenser cause this ? iv checked all my electric plugs and all my vac hoses all are fine...thanks

next time start the car in gear, it gets rid of the accelerated warm up. Try that and see if you have any success.

When was the last time you had the normal maintenance done:

Changed spark plugs
Changed fuel filter
Changed oil & oil filter
etc..

What is your idle rpm and what's your vacuum reading at idle?

I think I had something similar on a 93 I had awhile back. Do you still have the stock cats. it would'nt the AWS. But could explain the back firing. mine was intermittant, would'nt rev, sounded like it had a bannana in the exhaust pipe, and the exhaust system would get so hot it would glow orange just from idleing.

If the car is stock, you have a problem. Your vacuum should be higher. The idle is a little high, but that's not too much of a problem.

Looks like you have a vacuum leak (or worse, possibly blown a seal).

If you are handy with the tools, I would start looking at the vacuum lines. If not, time to take it to a good mechanic.
