In Car WideBand
In Car WideBand
So I searched a little and didn't find what I wanted. I figure this will be the next thing on my list. the only thing I know about them is that they cost a lot (about 1k) and are an extremely good thing to have if you are running anything except stock.
So who has these WB in car setups...which ones do you have, do you like it, if you were to choose a differntly one which one would you choose?
Thanks,
Me

they arent 1k, you can find ones for alot cheaper.
i use this one http://www.turboxs.com/Tuner/tunerfeat.shtml
Its got a ton of features and better resolution then a Motech
and if you wanted you can use a gameboy advance to display your afrs. http://www.turboxs.com/Dtec/dtec.shtml

I use the AEM and like it. I have also used the Techedge and Innovative.

Anyway, this (after the HKS TP) is the next thing going on...Do any of these have a preak warning function that slaps you in the face or anything?
EDIT: I have never seen one of these installed so I have no clue....So will you be running 2 O2 sesors, one for the for the fuel system and the other for monitoring?

The wideband would need to know boost to be able to do peak warning or else your warning would go off every time you lifted the throttle

could you run the AEM one from the link a few above into a SAFC? it says between 0-5 volts....how would go about that? Then could that run the SAFC to adjust like the boost sensor method? or is it still better to run the boost sensor method in comparision?
here is the exact one i have in my car if you wanted to go nuts with it. Probably a little pricy for most, but features galore

Have a hobbs switch trigger a relay at around 10psi, the relay could then provide power for another relay that was activated by the peak warning function on the air fuel meter. The power from that relay could then be used to trigger any number of motor saving devices. Just an idea.

I run two O2 sensors.
Dedicated WB sensor is just upstream of the main cat. FWIW:

you are forgetting about 1st and second gear. widebands use averaging so that the numbers arent jumping around 500 times a second. typically you can hit 10psi in a low gear before the wideband has actually displayed your afr. which is why tuning is typically done in 4th gear.

Dave the Dolphin, I recommend spending the cashola on a water injection system first. Will protect you more from a blown motor than a gauge ever will.
