Car still breaking up on high rpm

I have a problem with breakup on the high range of rpms(5500-8000). I just replaced my plug wires because they were 7 years old with new 10mm magnicors because I am running an upgraded ignition (ignition solutions). After that I am still having break up on the high end. Its starting to **** me off. Could it be my injectors? Should I run some injector cleaner through them? The thing that really bugs me is that it wasn't happening last year. Also there are no engine codes at all. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

That sholdn't be it...around what RPM is this happening? You may want to invest in an ignition amp such as an HKS twin power.

when u say break up..what exactly do you mean. explain in detail...is it actually stuttering or is it not clean? You could be rich.

I do have an upgraded ignition. Instead of the HKS I bought the ignition solutions one. My buddy and I have the same one.

When I say it breaks up I mean it stutters on the higher rpm's (5500-8000), and sometimes it back fires. I don't think I am running too rich because my buddy and I have the same upgrades and his car seems to run fine. We are going to swap ecu's and see if the problem occurs in his car and vise versa.

Who is Ignition Solutions? Try bypassing the box, it may have fried and only the trailings are firing.

from an outside view the most probable culprits are the ignition or injectors
also check grounds

Mine does this too...It's not injectors, cuz I monitor the duty cycle...most I've seen 79% WOT 14 psi. It's particularly pronounced when upshifting and WOT accelaration passes down the 1320...

Ya it happens at all boost levels. At 10psi its not bad but by 14.7psi it gets pretty bad. Also this only occurs at wide open throttle.

Actually, you could pull the fuel pump relay (big green one), pull a leading plug attach it back to the plug wire, and watch for spark while someone cranks it. It sounds like an ignition problem.

Out of what I read you only changed the plug wires, did you change the plugs themselves also?
I just had this problem and it was my plugs. Maybe you already changed them but I don't know. I had a stutter in the higher RPM's, say around 6.5k-7k, sometimes it would back fire also. I'am sure you already checked but make sure your MAP sensor fully connected. Sorry wasn't much help.

What type of Techtom computer are you using? Is it for monitoring (like the MDM-100) or is it an ECU?

What does it do for fuel cut?

Possibly a bad leading coil but unplug the Ignition Solutions box first. I have the Plasma Blaster in my car unplugged. Its junk, I tested it on the dyno at RP - will see if I can scan the sheet showing with and without. It made the same power up to about 5k rpm where the power curve levels off almost horizontal to redline with alot of break-up/oscilations.

An upgraded ignition is typically not needed unless you're running 13 psi or above with break-up. I plan to replace it with an HKS twin power.

How much do you think new coils are? And where can I get them cheap?

Use the MSD or Crane coils that You can get in Edmonton. I am using a twin post MSD motorcycle coil for the leading and two MSD Blaster 2 coils for the trailing. Also get yourself a MSD or crane amp for the leading. I am still having breakup problems and have tried almost everything. Try grounding straps also and check Your ignition harness, it might be damaged.

He already has the AMP HKS TWIN POWE

Your coils will be around $700, Mazda can do checks on them, but those checks blow, its best to just get all 3. The ignitor is mad $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ So its best to do the cheapest parts first when troubleshooting..

How do I go about testing the coils. Do I have to take the elbow, and the throttle body off or the upper intake plenum. Then how do I test them and how do I know if its good? Also I disconnected the Ignition solutions ignition from the car. Now it just breaks up in the high rpm range (7000-8000rpm) in first gear. The rest of the gears seem good. Maybe I'm running too rich and in first gear it doesn't have enough time to burn off the excess fuel causing it to break up and backfire. Those are just some of my thoughts as I try to figure out whats happening to my car. As I said the car ran fine last year but as soon as I put on the Ignition Solutions ignition it started to do this. Hopefully it didn't fry my coils!! Thanks for the advise.
