car shutting off on me

sometimes my FD will just turn off. it happens when i pull to a stop of something, like when im in neutral and im braking for something, sometimes the RPM's will just drop to zero and i have to turn over the car again. it is very inconsistant however. it seems like if/when i blip the gas right before braking it doesnt do it ( i do that when the car is dying on me). anyone have any clue what might be wrong??

most likely you have a lower intake manifold gasket leak. is your idle high, say about 1100rpm? does it fluctate? if so, LIM is probly the culprit

It might be your clutch switch, but since you say it dies in neutral, instead of in gear, it may not be. Still worth checking, though. There are two switches on the clutch, it's the upper one. A spring inside the switch is prone to failure.

Do you have a PFC? If so, you can go to the sensor screen and check that each switch is working correctly. If not, crawl under the dash and manually check that switch's plunger travels about an inch (vs. no travel for a bad switch).

only happens when in neutral, not in a gear.

My automatic has been quitting when running with zero throttle in high gear in D. Like downhill.
I am suspicious that the idle is just a bit low, but are there other likely culprits?
