car is running weird when I start it
I live in Minnesota and its starting to get cold. I am storing it this week. Heres my question, when I start my car instead of the normal rev up to 3 grand it just goes up to like 2 maybe 2 an a quarter. But then sometimes it does go up to 3 like normal. This just started when the weather has been getting more cold. Is this bad or does this happen with the cold weather I know rotarys have a hard time starting in the cold. It still starts fine every time.

I live in Michigan, and I have noticed that mine is starting a little wierd lately. It seems to want to stall right after I turn the key. I was told to tap the throttle when I first start it....that will help to keep the idle down, and help it in the cold. So far, I haven't had a problem with that technique.

I wouldn't do the 3k startup thing anymore, especially now that it's getting cold. A lot happens to the engine on a startup like that. The best thing to do is give it a light blip of the throttle like Ground Zero said, then don't let it sit there and warm up, it's best to warm it up by driving it under light load for a while.
As for it starting funny, there might be somedays it won't start at all, it's normal, for some reason the rotaries don't like cold temps.
