Car is running too hot for my taste

Happens during long drives both city and highway driving. It's never overheated, but it's above the horizontal point on the temp gauge and it jumps up and down. On a cold day and with a short trip it wont climb above the horizontal point.
I have a M2 CAI, M2 DP, and Apex'i N1 Dual. Have a PFC waiting to install. But what else could I do to this baby to keep it cool? It's high milage 100k.
Radiator, lower thermostat, new water pump, pulleys? What do you guys think? Thanks in advance.

But yeah, basically radiator, thermostat, fan mod that allows you to control the fans, make sure you've got a good mixture in the rad and you've got no leaks in the system. That's about it.

Thanks, I read that post before but I thought he had different symptoms than me (my coolant light never turns on). Just thought there might be something different.

Fan mod for sure, new radiator and or flush the system and run different mix. Right now I'm about 65% h20 and the rest coolant.

May try that evans coolant soon though.

I took the fan on/off sensor out of a honda D16 engine and put on my fd and ran one wire to ground and the other to the one of the fan relays.. now my fans turn on at 87'c and my h2o temp never goes over 94'c even in traffic on hot okinawa days...

A major problem with the FD is not only the lackluster radiator, but the airspill that occurs around it. The radiator is not sealed well in the front, and since air chooses the path of least resistance, goes around the radiator instead of through it. The first thing is to make sure that you are always running with an undercover. Without this it's very easy for the car to overheat. Second I took black helicopter masking tape and sealed all around my radiator. I haven't had a single overheating problem since. I will be installing my Koyo radiator soon, and I'm going to block off the sides with aluminum to keep the airflow through the radiator.

I would start by flushing the system and replace the thermostat. After you install the PFC, you will be able to compare the stock temp. gauge to the commander.
Did you get the R1 you were looking for?

You're going to need it anyway...get a new all aluminum radiator, aluminum AST, and change all your coolant fluids. After that do as mentioned b4 and rig the fan to come on at lower temps and you should be alright. Also, how do you cool the car when you park it or get home? Look into the fan mod where the fan stays on for ~10 min. after turning the car off. Cost is about $50 I think.

rx7eaven: When I go home I park the car, I have the turbo timer usually set to 3 minutes and the fans stay on for 10 minutes anyway. Pop my hood, lock my doors, close my garage, and leave. Is there anything bad about that? If so let me know.

Rick: Check your mail, and thanks again

hapa: I like what you've done with the underbelly, but I'm too dumb to do stuff like that.... Wanna help me out when I get my radiator? hehe.
