Hmmm....something went wrong with my first post, so I'll try again:

I'm not really sure what's wrong with my car, hoping you guys can help. I changed the spark plugs today, coming in from the top, not smart, but I got them in there.

Anyway, after starting the car, I immediately get a lot of blue smoke, smelling heavily of fuel. The idle is rough and hunts between 600-1000 rpms. When I rev it to 2000, there is some pulsing in the engine, almost feels like a plug isn't firing. After letting off the throttle, rpms drop down to 500 and below, and the engine almost stalls before coming back up.

I tried resetting the ecu, no help. I know the wires are on all the way, do I have a bad plug?

I searched around for threads on running rough and rich, but didn't really find anything to help me. Just got the car recently, so I don't have too much experience with it.

Oh, and the car is a stock '94.

Thanks

Did you swap leading and trailing wires by accident?

I don't think so, did each plug one at a time. Blue wires on the trailing, right?

I don't have a gauge to check it with right now. So you think it's a leak maybe?

I think you knocked your map sensor hose off. Check the line that runs from the upper intake manifold to the sensor on the driver's side firewall called boost sensor.

Many thanks, it was disconnected. (I feel dumb now). Plugged it back in, and the idle and stalling problem is fixed, but the smoke is still there.

Reset the ECU and go drive the car for a while. Give the car a good rev when it's warmed up. Running the car without the boost sensor plugged in will run the car extremely rich. You need to go out and burn that junk up.

Have fun!

I did the same thing when I changed my oil, I accidentally knocked the boost sensor hose off, and the car was running horrible. It sounded as if I had a street port or something.

After changing my oil etc. My car was running fine, though I know im still running rich. I get like 10 miles or less to the gallon. There was one morning my car didnt start up at all. Sounded like a compression problem. I had a friend come over and check it out. He got the car running, though from all my tries it left a huge cloud of white smoke. You can smell the rich gas too. I unfortunatley have no clue what is really wrong with my car. Good thing im taking it in to Hayes Rotary tomorrow. Its among other things thats wrong with my car.
