Car more responsive when cold

It seems like whenthe double throttle is cold the accelerator is more responsive, could there be something wrong with the sensor or the tps?

Colder air = higher air density = better combustion = faster car

Most turbocharged cars with factory EFI are fastest during warm up. One of the reasons was sited above, but one of the bigger reasons are the warm-up enrichments and timing advances that are in place as the vehicle warms up. More fuel is needed during warm-up to compensate for the fuel that condenses on the cold portions of the intake. Most ECU's employ a temperature based function or a temperature based map that adds additional fuel when cold, and then gradually tapers off as the engine warms up. Also, additional advance is added at lower temperatures, and is similarly reduced as the engine warms up. Now, think of why the double throttle plates are in place! Those who have removed theirs know they must baby the car during warm-up. Attaining full air flow and boost on a car without the double throttle plates would allow the ECU to access advance levels that could destroy an engine at full boost during warm-up. Thus, the car would be it's absolute fastest when the double throttle plates have just opened, but some smaller amount of advance and enrichment is still in place (probably around 70-80C). Have you ever noticed that this period of unexplained additional power is very short lived? This points to the fact that a stock engine benefits from some enrichment, and explains the immediate power gains that are accessible by installing an aftermarket ECU on an otherwise stock engine.
