car idles rough

Just got the boost problem on our car figured out... the primary wastegate rod was disconnected (go figure). So the wastegate was open.... W're now running a very healthy 11 primary 12 secondary boost pattern.
But, now since we've got the car back from the shop it is idling really rough. It didn't run the greatest before at idle, but it's definetely worse. Idles around 5-600 rpm and backfires slightly if you tap the pedal. Above and beyond that though it revs and runs great. Any ideas? I don't think it's vacuum related because we just put on all new hoses. The vacuum is low when it's running rough (-10-12 lbs), but if you hold the revs at 2000 rpm or so it'll pull -15 to -20.

Let me know if anyone's had a similar problem...

Thanks
Chuck

Oh, update on the mods... don't know if it'll make a difference or not, but the car now has a downpipe and midpipe. Stock intake and catback.

leaky injectors? ignition? maybe try adjusting the idle up to 750 or 1k rpm.

Well I can tell you one thing, if you don't have an upgraded ECU that is TUNED for a midpipe...that idle of yours is gonna be the last of your worries. I would ditch the midpipe ASAP if you don't infact have the ECU.

stock intake and catback are helping bottle it up until we hook up the HKS Super AFR...
BTW. Got to thinking tonight... We converted to a 5 speed from an auto with this car. And didn't bump the idle speed... So that might be it. What is a manual car supposed to idle at? That very likely could be what we're dealing with... It could be trying to idle lower than the 5 speed computer is tuned to do efficiently? Just a thought...
