Car dies when i hit brakes?

It was a nice day out so I figure I would take the 7 out, and take that to work. Started it up and let it sit for about 10 minutes to warm up, went to the gas station filled it up with 93 and went to work, about 15 miles away. I got to work and let the idle before I shut it off, and went into work at about 9 o'clock. At 12 I got in and went to lunch after letting it warm up again. Took the first corner and I gently applied the brakes and it died. I didnt know if it was me or the car. I started it up again and got to the next stop sign and braked again and it died again. This went on for a few corners until i got some place to stop and pop the hood. I opened the hood and everything seemed to be in order, plenty of brake fluid (if that has anything to do with it) the lines seem to be all connected, and plugs too. So I get back in to limp it back to work and its fine. Not a problem at all, so i continue to lunch. Stop and eat fpr about 10 minutes, get back in and start to drive and its fine until I get 1 block away from work where my CLUTCH begins to act like my brake peddle. YES, when i pushed in my clutch it stoped my car completely with out hitting the brake at all. I have never heard of anything like this, if anybody has any info to help out it would be greatly appriciated.

I would suspect an electrical problem most likely under the dash. You might let the car idle and then move things around under the dash and see if you can get it to do it while it is idling???

When pressing the brake to slow down, did you also have the clutch pressed? If so, it could be your clutch switch having a problem:

I've heard that a air bubble i your brake line will cause the car to surge when you press the breaks. Maybe this surge is causeing the car to bog out?

Yes, it did happen at times when my clutch was engaged. Im going to get a new clutch switch since they are cheap, and hope that fixes my problem for good. Thanks again Mahjik, again your knowledge has helped me out of a jam, and im sure it wont be the last time.
