That URL details out what I used and did to clean my car. Although I did not use Griots in this case I'm sure it will work just as well.

Just as a note, we have tried 3M Polishers and Cleaners, but we stopped using it when we found Griots.

Cody - Your inner fenders look exactly like mine!! It did take a good few afternoons to get a decade of road grime off the suspension. Any advice for cleaning the underbody? I've got it basically clean, but I want it new-car clean.

My .02: Use 100% COTTON towels only. Anything less WILL scratch. Oh, and when washed don't use a fabric softener unless you have really hard water.

sszablya. I would suggest that you use the same kind of products on the underside of your car as I did on the inner fender wells and the engine. I cleaned off underneath my car some too, but not a whole lot. I didn't take any pictures though. If I remember right it turned out pretty clean. The other thing you can do is to use 3M adhesive remover (you can get this at Griots now) to take off all of the tar globs and adhesive goop that has built up on the car over the years.

I would post some pictures for you, but it has been about a year since I did this thorough cleaning. Sorry.

Terry towels are best, and dont use diapers! They have nylon threads, which scratch, and they are closely knit fibers which means dirt stays at the surface causing scratches

yeah.... A clean car is a happy car. And it's much easier to work on. And I'm really, really bored at times. I'm gonna get it all done this winter, I think, including a nice flat black paint coat on the undercarriage, and painting most of the exhaust with silver header paint. It's worth it to me when someone asks, "What year is that? - Oh really? It looks like a 2003!"

I've heard that before with a (completely) clean car.

Not to mention, it's easier to keep clean if it's cleaned right the first time.. then it's usually just a matter of regular spray downs with a pressure washer. (for the inner fender and underbody.

I somehow talked my fiancee into getting on the ground with me, on her back, to scrub the undercarriage with a toothbrushy thing; the last time I cleaned it... hehe

I have a question that is kind of off this topic, but do you think of those car tents that have the zipper doors will be good enough to store the car in for the winter. Like i said im picking it up this weekend, and i need somewhere to store it. I don't have enough to build a garage. But i figured that those tents can't be that bad considering they are enclosed.
