Well that sucked, lol....
I got some pics on getting the housing apart, but getting the actual synchro out is a pain in the ***, and i did not have all the tools to do it. Im going to be pulling the tranny again in a few weeks and will get the right pullers to get it out.
Meanwhile pulling the trann

I hope you are not just going to change the syncro alone. You should change the shift sleeve(hob) and at the least the 5th gear inner bearing. Then you should also replace the rear main shaft and countershaft bearings. Not to mention you should probably replace the countershaft nut.
If you are in there you might as well replace all of that.

When you get down to the syncro and pull it out its prob going to look perfect. The way to tell its broke is to drop it on the pavement from just a few inches and listen to the sound it makes. If its good it makes a ringing sound, if its broken it makes a cracked kinda sound. You can just drop them both and listen to the difference.
Oh yea, just drop them from like 3 inches so it doesnt furt anything lol.......or maybe just kinda ping it with something to see what sound it makes.
Also, my understanding is that the upgraded spindle came out in the 94 model so if you have a 94 or 95 its the same spindle spring rate, if its 93 its a weaker spring.

Actually its only like a 20% discount which would be about $14-$15, not $50.

Sweet, post that vid, I think we could all use it
Also let us know how long it took ya and how much it cost ya total in the end, there is a shop here in hawaii that will do it but they charge 1200-1400 bucks to have it rebuilt (well to redo just the syncro), personnaly I would rather do it myself
P.S. Are you doing this with/on a lift or just jackstands?

I have some info on this on my site (not really a how-to, but it may help some). See Upgrades --> Drivetrain --> Transmission --> Shift Select Spindle.
Let me know if you get pictures of video. Could I host a copy of this on my site?
Cheers,
Steve
