is the general consensus to stick with the stock type filler neck cap as well as the stock type of AST cap?

Yes, you want to stick with the stock type filler neck cap and the stock pressure (13 psi) filler neck cap.

Different AST's require different size caps but all caps should be rated for the stock pressure.

Why should you stick with stock pressure? I thought the 1.1 bar cap was better to run.

The higher preasure cap does offer better cooling but things have a greater tendancy to explode with a 1.1 bar cap.
