Can't stop coming back... but need surrogate for now
Hope you don't mind me posting, just want to share the torrid love affair that is the FD...
I've had an '88 FC, '93 FD and then finally a '91 R1 that I had up until a couple of years ago.
Sold the first FD to get a Z4 M Coupe, which lasted me only 3 months before I was bored with it. Then I got an '01 911 Turbo, chipped to 500HP, which I had for 4 months. The car was a bore. Most recently I had a C55 AMG, which was a fabulous car, but it had to go.
The FD is like nothing else I have driven. The incredible stock looks, the tiny size and weight, the exilerating twin turbo power delivery. That fact that at 6'3 I can fit in it without even having the seat all the way back.
Now I'm yearning for an FD again, one which I will probably keep forever, but funds do not permit right now.
So I need something to get me by for now. CHEAP! Main quality I'm looking for - something FUN to drive. Ideally below $3,500. Choices - 1st gen RX7, FC, Mark III Supra, ???
What would you buy for that kind of money?
