Can't identiy where the sound is coming from?

Ok... so the car is parked, hand brake on, in nutrel. I go to the back of my FD and rock it back and forward and get like a clunking sound I guess... coming from the rear, orginally thought it was my shockers, but don't think they are... any ideas at all?

Doubt this would be the case because I beleive it playing more of a role than just when it parked... can't downshift due to alot of noise and shaking... so perhaps pillowballs? Or/and bushes?

If you get the clunking noise/feel when you brake, then that another symptom that it's the pillowball bushings.

Not as i'm breaking, I only get the noise I described earlier when I come to a complete stop as the car rocks back...

Definitely rear pillowball bushings. That's my test to see if they're bad on a car - car off, e-brake on, rock the car back and forth. You'll get a clicking/clunking from the rear end if they're bad.

Ain't cheap for the parts, but it makes a big difference when they're new and good.

Do pillowballs have a major effect on driving in relation to downshifting and engaging with the clutch? Making noise, shuddering? Etc..?

Check your jack compartment, on the passenger side. If the jack, or jack handle, comes loose it can make a clunking noise.

My pillow ***** were so bad you could grab the rear wheel and turn it side to side slightly. Acutally, a good percentage of FD's I have seen are about the same.
